One of the convenient features of Google Drive is the “Recent” section, which displays the files you have recently accessed. However, if you want to declutter your Google Drive or remove sensitive files from the recent list, you can easily do so by following these simple steps.

Step 1: Access Google Drive

To begin, open your web browser and go to drive.google.com. If you’re not already signed in, log in with your Google account credentials.

Step 2: Navigate to the Recent section

Once you’re logged in, you will see a sidebar on the left-hand side of the screen. Click on the “Recent” tab to view the list of files you have recently accessed.

Step 3: Select the file(s) you want to remove

Scroll through the list of recent files and click on the file(s) you want to remove from the recent list. You can select multiple files by holding down the “Ctrl” (Windows) or “Cmd” (Mac) key and clicking on each file.

Step 4: Delete the selected file(s)

With the file(s) selected, click on the “More” button (three vertical dots) located at the top right corner of the screen. From the dropdown menu, choose “Delete.”

Step 5: Confirm the deletion

A confirmation dialog box will appear asking you to confirm the deletion. Click “Delete” to remove the file(s) from your Google Drive and the recent list.

Alternative Method: Clearing the Recent list

If you want to clear the entire recent list and remove all files from it, follow these steps:

1. Click on the “Recent” tab in the sidebar.
2. Click on the “Clear all recent” button at the top right corner of the screen.
