Google Maps is an essential tool for navigating the world around us, providing users with detailed information about various locations. However, sometimes you may find that some recent places you’ve visited or searched for are no longer relevant or you simply want to keep your map clean and organized. In this article, we will guide you through the process of deleting recent places on Google Maps.

Step 1: Open Google Maps on Your Device

First, you need to open the Google Maps app on your smartphone or tablet. If you’re using a computer, visit the Google Maps website in your web browser.

Step 2: Access the Menu

Once you’re in the Google Maps app or on the website, tap on the menu icon (three horizontal lines) located in the upper left corner of the screen. This will open a list of options.

Step 3: Select ‘Your Places’

Scroll through the menu options and tap on ‘Your Places.’ This section contains all the places you’ve saved, searched for, or visited recently.

Step 4: Navigate to ‘Recent’

Within the ‘Your Places’ section, you’ll find a tab labeled ‘Recent.’ Tap on this tab to view a list of all the recent places you’ve interacted with on Google Maps.

Step 5: Delete a Recent Place

To delete a recent place, simply tap and hold on the place you want to remove. A menu will appear with options such as ‘Remove’ and ‘Share.’ Tap on ‘Remove’ to delete the place from your recent list.

Step 6: Confirm Deletion

A confirmation message will appear asking if you’re sure you want to delete the place. Tap ‘Yes’ to confirm the deletion, and the place will be removed from your recent list.

Step 7: Delete Multiple Recent Places

If you want to delete multiple recent places at once, you can select multiple places by tapping on them while holding your finger down. Once you’ve selected the desired places, tap the ‘More’ button (three vertical dots) in the upper right corner of the screen. Then, tap ‘Delete’ to remove all the selected places from your recent list.

If you want to clear your entire recent places list, return to the ‘Your Places’ section and tap on the ‘Recent’ tab. Tap the ‘More’ button (three vertical dots) in the upper right corner, and then select ‘Clear All.’ This will remove all recent places from your list.
