How to Downsize Your Fanny Pack Strap- A Guide to Reducing Its Size

How to Alter Strap on Fanny Pack to Make Smaller

Fanny packs have made a comeback in recent years, offering a convenient and stylish way to carry essentials on the go. However, many find that the straps on these packs are too long, making them uncomfortable to wear. If you’re looking to alter your fanny pack to make the straps smaller, follow these simple steps to achieve a more comfortable fit.

1. Gather your materials
Before you begin, gather the following materials:
– Your fanny pack
– Scissors
– Measuring tape
– Thread and needle
– Fabric glue or fabric tape (optional)

2. Measure the desired strap length
Using a measuring tape, measure the length of the strap where you want it to end. This will be the new length of your strap. Keep in mind that you may want to leave a little extra length for adjustments.

3. Cut the strap
With your fanny pack laid flat on a table, locate the spot where you want to cut the strap. Place the scissors at this point and carefully cut through the strap. Be sure to cut through both layers of fabric and the stitching.

4. Thread the needle
Thread a needle with a piece of thread that matches the color of your fanny pack. If you prefer, you can also use fabric glue or fabric tape to secure the ends of the strap without sewing.

5. Sew the ends
If you’re sewing the ends, start by threading the needle and making a small knot at the end of the thread. Then, insert the needle through the end of the strap and pull it through to the other side. Repeat this process, creating a loop that will hold the strap in place. Continue sewing the loop until it’s secure, then tie a knot to finish.

6. Trim the excess thread
Once the strap is secured, trim any excess thread and thread ends.

7. Test the fit
Put on your fanny pack and adjust the straps to ensure they are at the desired length. If you need to make any further adjustments, simply repeat steps 3-6.

8. Optional: Reinforce the strap
If you want to ensure that your altered strap stays in place, you can reinforce it by adding a piece of fabric tape or fabric glue to the inside of the strap where the ends are sewn together.

By following these simple steps, you can easily alter the strap on your fanny pack to make it smaller and more comfortable to wear. Now you can enjoy your favorite fanny pack without any discomfort!
