Exploring the Venues- A Journey Through the Past Locations of the CPAC Event

Where was CPAC Held?

The Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) is one of the most influential gatherings for conservative activists, policymakers, and political figures in the United States. Each year, the conference attracts thousands of attendees who come together to discuss a range of political issues and to network with like-minded individuals. The question of where CPAC was held often arises, as the location can change from year to year. In this article, we will explore the various venues where CPAC has been held over the years and discuss the impact of these locations on the conference’s success.

CPAC’s First Location: National Harbor, Maryland

The first CPAC conference took place in 1973 at the National Harbor in Maryland. This location set the stage for the future success of the conference, as it provided a central location for conservative activists to come together and share their views. The National Harbor has since become a traditional venue for CPAC, hosting the conference in 2005, 2007, and 2013.

CPAC’s Move to Washington, D.C.

In 1985, CPAC made the significant move to Washington, D.C., where it has been held ever since. The nation’s capital is a strategic location for a political conference, as it provides easy access to policymakers, political activists, and media outlets. The first Washington, D.C. CPAC was held at the Washington Hilton Hotel, which has become the conference’s home for many years. The Hilton has hosted CPAC since 1985, with the exception of 1993, when the conference was held at the Renaissance Washington, D.C. Downtown Hotel.

CPAC’s International Expansion

While CPAC remains a U.S.-based conference, it has expanded its reach internationally. In 2017, CPAC held its first-ever international event in Montreal, Canada. This expansion aimed to engage conservative activists from across the globe and foster a global network of like-minded individuals. The success of the Montreal event led to the decision to hold CPAC Europe in 2018 in Prague, Czech Republic, and CPAC Asia in 2019 in Tokyo, Japan.

CPAC’s Continued Legacy

The location of CPAC has always played a crucial role in the conference’s success. Whether it’s the National Harbor in Maryland, the Washington Hilton in D.C., or the international events in Montreal, Prague, and Tokyo, each venue has contributed to the conference’s reputation as a leading forum for conservative thought and activism. As CPAC continues to evolve and expand its reach, the question of where CPAC was held remains a significant part of its legacy, highlighting the conference’s commitment to fostering a strong conservative movement both domestically and globally.
